Without Limits Swim Clinics
Without Limits Charleston is hosting two swim clinics to help advance your skills and confidence in the pool and in open water. Both clinics will be led by Grace Alexander who is a certified swim coach, professional triathlete, and former collegiate swimmer. Both clinics will focus on the basics and will be geared towards newer swimmers and triathletes. However, it is also open to more experienced swimmers who might want some refreshers and practice on essential skills.
The clinics are free for all active Without Limits team members. The pool swim clinic will be capped at 20 participants and the open water swim clinic will be capped at 15 participants to ensure safety and high quality instruction. If we reach 15 registrants, we will maintain a waiting list should additional spots become available.
Pool Swim Clinic

At the pool clinic, Coach Grace Alexander plans to focus on freestyle body positioning, breathing, and the catch phase of the stroke. These will include different cues and drills. The clinic will not be a "workout" but an hour of pure skills and technical practice. Participants are asked to bring a kick board if they have one.
Open Water Swim Clinic

At the OWS clinic, Coach Grace Alexander will focus on race starts (run in start vs. in water vs. jump in) as well as differences between open water (ocean, river, lake) and pool swimming skills. Then, there will be instruction on sighting tips and exit water tips. This one will also include information for gear (swimskin vs. wetsuit, goggles, cold water gear, etc). Participants will have a chance to demo swim gear from blueseventy.
