2024 WOL Triangle Winter Track
2024 WINTER TRACK SESSION
January 3 - March 6
The winter is a great time to build and strengthen a runner's foundation and help prepare them for a successful & injury-free outdoor track & field season. It also can provide opportunities for athletes in other sports, like lacrosse and soccer, to focus on endurance, speed, strength, & mobility. Like our Cross Country season, we will offer both a competitive (Triangle Elite) and non-completive option. The Triangle Elite option is for athletes ready for additional workouts and racing opportunities. They can train 4-5 times a week and compete in indoor track meets. The non-completive option is for athletes who want to train 2-3 times a week but aren't as interested in racing yet. In addition to training, and meets we will also plan on having a few team parties/socials throughout the session too for all athletes.
Our program is designed for athletes ages 7-18 years old. All skill levels are welcome to sign up for the non-competitive option. If you are new to the program and would like to sign up for the competitive option, please email Coach Estep (estepjosh@gmail.com) before registering.
Note: We will have a mandatory parent meeting/seminar in early January. In addition to discussing team expectations and upcoming meets, we are excited about bringing in a sports nutrition coach who will be sharing more about the nutrition needs of young athletes and helping answer questions we have. More details to come!
PRACTICE TIMES & LOCATIONS
Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30 PM, Cary Academy Track (Everyone)
Tuesday & Thursdays, 4:30-5:30 PM, American Tobacco Trail or Umstead (Triangle Elite)
Saturdays, 9:00 - 10:45 AM, Umstead Park (Everyone)
Note: when we have a weekend meet, we will move the weekend practice to Sunday afternoon or cancel)
COST:
Non-Competitive: $250.00
Triangle Elite (Elementary/Middle School) $350.00
Triangle Elite (High School) $350.00
Additional cost for competitive athletes include: uniform top-if you don’t have one yet ($30), meet entry fees ($15-$40 per meet).

Sun, 1/14: VA Showcase @ Virginia Beach Sports Complex (all ages, additional entry fee)
Sat, 1/27: Camel City Invite @ JDL FastTrack, Winston-Salem (select middle school athletes, entry fee included)
Sat, 2/3: Queens & Kings Series Meet #3, Hampton VA (all ages, entry fee included)
Fri-Sun, 3/1-3/3: AAU Indoor Nationals, VA Beach (all ages, additional entry fee)
Fri, 3/8 - Nike Indoor Nationals @ The Armory, New York City (Middle School & High School athletes who hit the qualifying standards)
Note: We plan to add 1-2 additional local racing opportunities if it works out.
